Specific Prisoners not Allowed to Meet Authorities Visiting Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – On June 1, 2016, before the arrival of a delegation of high-ranking officials of the Human Rights Council of the Judiciary to visit the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, prisoners who were thought to tend to protest, including “Behnam Ebrahimzadeh” imprisoned labor activist were transferred to the security office violently and were held there until the end of the visit of the delegation. This caused the protests of the prisoners.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), some of the prisoners who were thought to tend to protest, including “Behnam Ebrahimzadeh” imprisoned labor activist were taken to the security office violently and were held there until the end of the visit of the delegation. The purpose of this was to prevent them from talking to or protesting at the delegation of high-ranking officials of the Human Rights Council of the Judiciary and journalists.
Some of prisoners of the prison considered this action as covering up the bad situation of the prison and announced their objection to this by writing a letter which was given to HRANA. In the letter, they call for paying attention to the problems of the prison instead of covering it up.
