HRANA – Morteza Yousefzadeh, one of those arrested during the January 2026 protests who is currently incarcerated in Greater Tehran Prison, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
According to HRANA, Morteza Yousefzadeh has been sentenced to imprisonment.
Based on information received by HRANA, Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Seyed Ali Mazloum, sentenced Mr. Yousefzadeh to 10 years in prison on charges including “taking operational action aimed at disrupting national security.”
Morteza Yousefzadeh was arrested in January 2026 amid nationwide protests. He has been held in Greater Tehran Prison since his arrest.

It should be noted that protests and strikes by shopkeepers and bazaar merchants began in Tehran on Sunday, December 28, 2025, and within two days spread beyond markets and commercial centers.
