HRANA News Agency – Afarin Chitsaz, imprisoned journalist was released on the bail and Ehsan Mazandarani former editor of “Farhikhtegan Newspaper” was sent to a three-day-long furlough. At the same time, there are unconfirmed reports of granting furlough to Davood Asadi and Saman Safarzaiee.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Afarin Chitsaz, imprisoned journalist in Evin prison was released on a bail of 10 billion IRR.
Afarin Chitsaz had been arrested in 2015 and was tried in branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Moghiseh and sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion to disrupt the national security and contact with foreign governments”.
Afarin Chitsaz’s appeal is still pending.
Ehsan Mazandarani was sent to furlough.
According to IRNA, Ehsan mazandarani former editor of “Farhikhtegan Newspaper” was sent to furlough.
Ehsan Mazandarani who, along with several other journalists had been arrested on security charges in 2015 was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
He was tried in branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court.
Mr. Mazandarani was charged with “assembly and collusion” and “activities against the state”.
His family told that his case was made in 2011 while he had been detained along with a number of journalists.
There are unconfirmed reports of granting furlough to Davood Asadi and Saman Safarzaiee, too.
