Afshin Sohrabzadeh in Critical Health Condition in Minab Prison

HRANA News Agency – The condition of Afshin Sohrabzadeh, political prisoner in Minab prison has been described as “dangerous”. This prison has “colon cancer, internal bleeding and kidney problems” since a long time ago.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a close person to Afshin Sohrabzadeh said: “He has been sentenced to 25 years in prison and exile to Minab prison on charges of ‘Muharebeh through membership in Kurdish parties’ in a 5-minute trial in branch 2 of Sanandaj court.”
Mr. Sohrabzadeh is suffering from colon cancer. He was transferred to Evin prison for medical care in 2015 and was returned to Minab prison without treatment because of the high costs (185 million tomans was the cost of treatment) after some months.
Afshin Sohrabzadeh, 24 years old, from Kermanshah was arrested by the IRGC intelligence agents of Kamyaran on June 8, 2010 and was transferred to Central Prison of Sanandaj after interrogation at the Intelligence Office of Kamyaran. He then were exiled to Minab prison from Sanandaj prison in 2012.
In a letter to Mr. Ahmed Shaheed he has written: “As far as I remember, before the arrest, I was in perfect health. I was severely tortured in the intelligence office and my nose was fractured and my hernia was torn as a result of severe blows inflicted by the intelligence agents.
