Afshin Sohrabzadeh’s Brother Arrested by the IRGC Agents

HRANA News Agency – Kaveh Sohrabzadeh, Afshin Sohrabzadeh’s brother, political prisoner who suffers from cancer, was arrested after following his brother’s medical treatment, by the IRGC agents.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the IRGC agents in Kermanshah arrested Kaveh Sohrabzadeh when he was about to leave his home, without any warrant and transferred him to the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Office in Kermanshah (Shahid Siahkamari).
A close relative of Sohrabzadeh family in an interview with HRANA, by announcing this news, said: “This morning, at 7 o’clock, Kaveh was arrested when he was leaving his home to his work, by the Revolutionary Guards agents in Kermanshah, without any warrant.”
He added: “The agents were asking regarding his follow up for his brother’s medical treatment, who is in exile in Minab prison, when they were arresting him”.
The source also mentioned: “Mother of Afshin and Kaveh attended the office of the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence and she was told; ‘why did you talk to anti-revolutionary media about Afshin’s illness?’ And in response she asked them; ‘why you do not let my son, who is suffering from cancer get treatment?’”
Afshin Sohrabzadeh, born in 1990, was arrested on 8th June 2009 and in a two-minute- long court hearing was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment in exile on charge of cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties. The court verdict was upheld by the Supreme Court.
This political prisoner is suffering from colon cancer, shortness of breath and internal bleeding and despite deterioration of his health condition, judicial and prison authorities are preventing him from being transferred to a hospital outside the prison to get a proper treatment.
During the last several days, HRANA has published the evidences indicating that Mr Sohrabzadeh’s disease is getting worse on daily bases.
