HRANA News Agency – The sentence of Ali Zahed, political prisoner detained in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, who had been previously sentenced to life imprisonment, was reduced by the Supreme Court to 20 years imprisonment, and eventually with Article 134, it was reduced to 15 years in prison. Mr. Zahed was arrested in May 2008, on charge of Moharebeh, and sentenced to life imprisonment in Tehran’s Revolutionary Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the life time imprisonment sentence of Ali Zahed, political prisoner that had been violated by Judge Razini about two years ago, has been reduced by the Supreme Court to 20 years, and ultimately with the application of Article 134, was reduced to 15 years imprisonment.
The final charges against Mr. Zahed were Moharebeh and insulting the sanctities, and the request for the retrial was upheld by the Supreme Court.
This prisoner of Ward 10 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj in a court of first instance was sentenced to execution, on charge of Moharebeh through collaboration with Mohsen Eslamian in the Shiraz Hosseinieh bombing case which was reduced to life imprisonment at the revision stage.
The retrial of Mr. Zahed’s case was admitted in November 2016, and his sentence was violated by the Supreme Court and his case was referred to Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
The verdict of this political prisoner which was violated by Judge Razini, nearly two years ago, has been reduced by the Supreme Court to 20 years, and has ultimately diminished with the imposition of Article 134 to 15 years’ imprisonment.
Ali Zahed, 48, married and has a child, was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence in May 2008 and was transferred to Shiraz Intelligence Office, and then to Evin Prison.
The reason for the arrest of Mr. Zahed was announced to be friendship of Mohsin Eslamian.
Mr. Eslamian was born in 1987, from Shiraz, student and unmarried, who was executed in April 2009 on charges of connection with the monarchy association and participating in the bombing of Rahpovian Hosseinieh in Shiraz.
