HRANA News Agency – Arash Sadeghi has gone on hunger strike again, after his wife Golrokh Irai was re-arrested and transfered to Evin prison. Mr. Sadeghi was transferred to ward 350 in Evin prison.

According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Arash Sadeghi, political prisoner, who was transferred to Tajrish Shohada hospital, after a short time of being held in prison infirmary, was transferred to ward 350, on January 25, 2017.

Mr. Sadeghi has gone on hunger strike again, after his wife, Golrokh Irai, was re-arrested and transferred to prison, to protest the authorities’ breach of promise about his wife, on Sunday January 22, 2017.

Mr. Sadeghi, who had recently ended his seventy two days of protesting hunger strike, was transferred to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran with a delay of 4 days.

Senior specialist in the hospital confirmed that he had stomach bleeding up to 12.5%, shortage of hemoglobin (anemia), serious and severe lung infection and had to be hospitalized at least 4 to 5 days.

However, due to the pressures by the prosecutor, prison security and Sarallh Corps and despite the doctors’ resistance, he was returned to Evin prison.

It should be noted that the medical furlough for Arash Sadeghi has been ordered on a bail of deed, and is now executive but according to a judiciary-security decision, he can go on furlough when his wife – Golrokh Irai, returns to the prison. On the other hand, Mr. Sadeghi is opposing against this breach of promise by the officials, and this prisoner is still deprived of being sent on leave.

HRANA has reported previously that the kidney and intestines tests’ results show that his kidneys have been damaged due to water shortage. According to the doctor, the right kidney won’t work in the future, as it used to.

The intestine tests also indicate that he has got intestinal adhesion, and doctors said that if that condition would continue, there was a risk of bleeding.

According to the forensic report, after examining Arash Sadeghi, there is a risk of coma and even his death.
