Behnam Ebrahimzadeh’s Letter about his New Imprisonment Sentence

HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, who has been sentenced to 9 years and 4 months imprisonment, has written in a letter: “I had been sentenced to 5 years in prison which I have spent 4 years of it. But I was tried again. The court did not even let my solicitor, Manijeh Mohammadi to participate in my trial. I was tried in branch 26 and branch 15, presided by Judge Salvati, and conveyed my sentence on 29th December. I was accused by allegations such as gathering and collusion against the national security and relations with MEK, propaganda against the regime, connection with Ahmed Shaheed, and keeping satellite equipment. I do not accept this verdict and I denied any connection with the MEK. I had no relationship with this organization and I do not have. It’s just a bogus charge and embroidered story.”

“To all freedom-loving people in the world

I have objection to the new sentence of imprisonment that has been issued for me
My name is Behnam Ebrahimzadeh and I am writing this letter from Rajai Shahr prison. First of all, I would like to thank you all my dears for your support in Iran and anywhere you are in the world. I really appreciate that. I ended my hunger strike following the requests by my son, Nima, and my family, other prisoners, my labor friends and with your vast and hearty support. But I still insist on my demands. My immediate demand is; taking me back to hall 12, political prisoners’ ward in Rajai Shahr. Also, as I was on hunger strike, I am in a serious physical condition, so that I am requesting an immediate medical leave from prison to get appropriate medical treatment. I am sure you know that my son, Nima Ebrahimzadeh is struggling with cancer. Now he is getting worse and has been transferred to Hafte Tir Hospital. I want to be with him, immediately.

I had been sentenced to 5 years in prison which I have spent 4 years of it. It’s just a bogus charge and embroidered story.

I am not a thief and I haven’t done any crime. I am a labor activist who defends labors’ rights, children’s rights and human rights. These are my charges and I have been sentenced to more than 9 years and 4 months in prison for that. This new sentence has affected my ill child, Nima and has caused him to suffer from severe emotional and psychological stress. My wife and my family are under severe pressure. Again, I am insisting and I want the entire world to hear my voice; I have objection to this verdict. I deny the charges of relationship with MEK. I am still pursuing my demands, and if I am guilty of defending humanity, however, I’m still a human and human rights defenders.  I would like to ask all organizations from all around the world and of all who hear me to support me and my demands.
