Seyed Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, political prisoners who has been transferred to the prison unexpectedly and was arrested with a deceitful method has written a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei while reporting the regrettable situation of ward 8 of Evin prison which was mentioned as an exile and asked the leadership to order an investigation similar to Kahrizak detention center.

In his letter, this political prisoner has mentioned the instances. He was transferred to ward 8 when he was arrested. Then he began a hunger strike and gave his letter officially to the prison authorities. After some days, he was transferred to ward 7 and he broke his hunger strike.

The complete text of the letter is as following:
In the name of God the merciful, the compassionate

Highness Ayatollah Khamenei,

Regards,

I am Seyed Hossein Ronaghi Maleki the son of Seyed Ahmad, before in some letters I have been talking about the injustice commandment, illegal behaviors and problems. Until now, there was no report to you about the regrettable situation which we face today. Unfortunately, despite the recommendations of doctors, the judicial authorities have returned me to the prison once again, and have exiled me to ward 8. That makes me write a letter to you to explain the bad situation which is seen recently and I know that the authorities of prison always explain you the opposite.

The frightful and bad situation of ward 8 which is known as an exile of Evin prison is in a way that aches every human heart. 290 prisoners are being kept in the ward with the average of 27 prisoners in a room of 18 square meters and many prisoners are sleeping on the floor of the corridor and opposite to the bath, toilet and kitchen with a regrettable and inhumane situation.

There are 6 Toilets and 5 bathrooms for 290 people and the heat condition is very unsuitable so that many of prisoners are sick because of intensive and uncontrolled cold. I had been formerly talking about unhealthy food in prison and once more I should say that the condition of prisoners is worse than before, infection diseases are spread in this ward. In spite of the fact that the law was clear about the separation of prisoners but still they are keeping the political prisoners besides the financial and the foreigners to persecute the political prisoners that cause the lack of rest and mental and spiritual security.

Still, the political prisoners do not believe that they must tolerate their imprisonment beside the professional fraudulent, Negin Gharb fraudulent and pirates of Somali and some unhealthy people.

In addition to infected diseases among prisoners, the drugs are prevalent and is being sold, bought and used inside the ward very obviously.

There is a question in my mind: Did the political prisoners face such circumstances before the revolution?!

We witness the falling and mocking the dignity and esteem and generosity of human being which your highness have told about it many times.

I ask you, as you entered to the Kahrizak case, to give instructions to consider the horrible and inhumane condition of ward 8 of Evin to investigate the bitter reality and unpleasant condition with attendance of the impartial inspector representing the government, parliament and judiciary. At the moment I am on hunger strike hoping to see the separation of political and nonpolitical prisoners.
Greetings,

Seyed Hossein Ronaghi Maleki
