Anwar Khezri Imprisoned with no Verdict since 7 Years ago

HRANA News Agency – Anwar Khezri, Sunni prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison is still in uncertainty after seven years of imprisonment after violation of his death sentence by the Supreme Court. Mr. Khezri is serving his prison sentence while suffering from shortness of breath, pain in the chest caused by torture but is still prevented from being transferred to the hospital and treatment and his medical records have disappeared as well.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Anwar Khezri Sunni prisoner was arrested in 2009. His death sentence was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2010, but still he remains in uncertainty despite the passage of seven years. A Report about Hunger Strikers in Prisons of Iran

HRANA News Agency – Reza Samiei Monfared, Hengameh Shahidi, Atena Daemi, and Esmail Abdi, four prisoners of conscience at Evin prison have been on hunger strike. At the same time, Seyed Hassan Hoseini, Ali Jahangiri and Hosein Yahyaei, three ordinary prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj have gone on hunger strike since the last week of April, and their condition is not good.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Reza Samiei Monfared, security prisoner has gone on hunger strike since March 5, Hengameh Shahidi, a journalist and political activist, since March 9, Atena Daemi, human rights defender at women’s ward, since April 8, and Esmail Abdi, a teacher and trade unionist in ward 350 of Evin prison, since April 30, have gone on hunger strike with various demands.  Continue reading “A Report about Hunger Strikers in Prisons of Iran”

A Prisoner Sentenced to Death after 7 Years of Detention

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner was sentenced to imprisonment and death, by judge’s acquaintance, on charge of murder and armed robbery, after 7 years of being in an undecided condition in Sanandaj. In Iran’s law, “judge’s acquaintance” does not necessarily need considering evidences and documented events.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Shouresh Moradi, son of Ahmad, who has spent more than 7 years in central prison of Sanandaj in an undecided condition, on charge of armed robbery and murder, was sentenced to death by “judge’s acquaintance”. Ahmadreza Jalali on Hunger Strike in Ward 240 of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Ahmadreza Jalali, an Iranian-Swedish researcher and doctor who has been detained with security charges, since last year, has been transferred to ward 240 of Evin Prison when he declared that he was on hunger strike. Ayoub Asadi Deprived of Medical Furlough in Kashmar Prison

HRANA News Agency – Ayoub Asadi from Kamyaran, ill political prisoner and exiled in Kashmar, since about six years ago is waiting for a medical leave. He suffers from asthma, kidney problems and loss of vision in the left eye, but has been deprived of necessary medical care.

Daemi Sisters Sentenced to 91 Days of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Daemi sisters (Athena, Ensieh and Haniyeh) were sentenced to three months and one day imprisonment each, by branch 1162 of Quds judiciary complex in Tehran. According to the decree, Ensieh and Haniyeh Daemi’s sentences have been suspended for one year.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), this decree has cleared Athena Daemi and her sisters of the alleged refusal to execute an arrest warrant, but Branch 1162 Penal Court of Tehran, presided by Judge Ali Babaei, on charge of “insulting officers in the line of duty” says: “Charges are clear and indisputable, and according to Article 609 of the Penal Code Act of 1978, each defendant has been sentenced to three months and one day imprisonment, counting the days of previous detention, and by considering specific circumstances of the second and third row of the accused, the court do not interest to sentence them now and according to the articles 46 and 49 of the Penal Code Act of 2013, has suspended the sentence for one year”. Death on Two Prisoners in One Week in Ghezelhesar Prison in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – Two prisoners died in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj. One of these prisoners passed away despite going to prison clinic; but because of failing in diagnosing the heart problem he died hours later. The other prisoner died due to over dosing of methadone while hoping to gather 10 million IRR.

Rubin Shahini Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Gholamreza (Rubin) Shahini, Iranian-American citizen detained in Gorgan prison, was released on the bail of 2000 million IRR.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Gholamreza (Rubin) Shahini, political prisoner and Iranian-American citizen, was released on the bail of 2000 million IRR from Amirabad prison in Gorgan.
A wide campaign on social media had been held to demand his freedom.
A source close to Mr. Shahini announced this news and told HRANA’s reporter: “This political prisoner with dual citizenship, who suffers from asthma, after his hunger strike, which last more than a month was in a bad physical and mental condition and foreign news media had given extensive coverage on the campaign and his hunger strike. Reza Shahini has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment by a court in Gorgan, when he returned to Iran.”
Gholamreza (Robin) Shahini, (borne in 1969 – in Dezyani Village) Iranian-American citizen, graduated in international security and solving conflicts, at the University of San Diego, was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment on charges of “collaboration with the Voice of America as part of the hostile country, America, and attending related TV programs, propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran and in favor of groups and organizations opposing the regime, membership in associations of opposition, including monarchists and…., seducing and inciting people to disrupt security and insulting the funder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei,  by Branch one of the Revolutionary Court in Gorgan, presided by Judge Seyed Ebrahim Mousavi.
Gholamreza Shahini, who used to live in USA for more than 16 years had traveled to Iran to meet his family in July 2016 and was arrested in Gorgan by the Ninawa Corps, in Golestan province.
Mr. Shahini, in an open letter that was provided to HRANA, had announced: “I am not a member of any political party. According to my perspective, during a visit to Iran in 2009, which was concurrent with the green movement, I also participated in peaceful protests that according to the constitution is recognized as a right for citizens”, and added: “My only sin was that I, as a liable human being expressed my thoughts about my home land, which is a right of all citizens”.
