Bahman Darolshafaei Sentenced to Fine by the Court of Appeal

HRANA News Agency – Bahman Darolshafaei was sentenced to 50 million IRR fine, by the Court of Appeal. He had been sentenced to one year imprisonment by a lower court.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Bahman Darolshafaei was sentenced to 50 million IRR fine, by the Court of Appeal.

Mr. Darolshafaei was arrested on February 3, 2016, and was released on a bail of 1 billion IRR on February 23, 2016.

He was charged in late May and the case was sent to Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.

He was tried in early August 2016 and was sentenced to one year imprisonment on charge of propaganda against the regime and the case was sent to Branch 36 of the Tehran Province Court of Appeal.

The Appeals Court, presided by Judge Kamali, was held on January 9 which changed his sentence to 50 million IRR fine.
