A Fisherman Killed by IRGC Forces

HRANA News Agency – Local fishing boats engaged in catching fish in the area of Turkmensahra, were deliberately run over by speedboats of sea guards forces. In the incident a young fisherman lost his live. Killing frontier citizens by border guards is one of the topics considered by the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), wooden boat of a fisherman from Turkmensahra was run over by speedboats of sea guards forces.

The identity of the fisherman was announced by HRANA as “Mahmoud Makhtonnejad” resident of Gomishan.

A source close to his family told HRANA’s reporter; “Mr. Makhtonnejad was from a poor family of the city. The families with this economic situation have to earn for living from fishing, which is not so good. On Thursday or Friday, when he had gone for fishing with his simple wooden boat, he was run over by the sea guards’ speedboats and died. No institution is responsive in this case”.

The source added: “This is not the first time that this kind of incidents happen. It has happened for many times that, speedboats and giant boats deliberately run over the small boats of fishermen or killed them by a direct shoot”.
