Four Students Arrested after a Meeting with the Head of Tehran University
HRANA News Agency – At least four members of the students’ council were arrested by security forces after a joint meeting of members of the student councils at the University of Tehran with the university’s headquarters, which was conducted to track the freedom of detained students.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), after a joint meeting of students’ councils at the University of Tehran with the university’s headquarters, which was conducted to talk about the freedom of students detained during the protests, at least 4 students were arrested, on December 31.
The students who were present at the joint session of the council were arrested by security forces after the end of the meeting and were transferred to an unknown location.
It is said that a number of other members of the guild councils of universities in Tehran and a number of others have been arrested by security agents under unknown circumstances.
Romina Mohseni, Mohammad Khani, Parvin Mohammadi, Majid Mosaferar, Siavash Amjadi, Sama Derakhshani, Soheib Weisi, Lailah Hosssinzadeh, and Pedram Pazireh are the identities of other detained students, including members of the student councils of Tehran University.
Mohammad Sharifi Moghaddam, Mohammad Reza Darvishi, Kasra Nuri and Faezeh Abdipour are four students who were arrested on December 30.
Among the detainees, Mohammad Sharifi Moghadam has been transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. No information is available on the fate of other detainees.
Also it has been reported that, Mohammad Javaheri, an anthropology student at the University of Tehran who was visiting his family in Sardasht city, was arrested by plainclothes agents and was taken to an unknown location, on January 2.
HRANA had reported on December 29 that after protests in Zahedan “at least three students from Zahedan, Amin Rezai, Omid Arsalan Pejman and Yasin Mirzai” were arrested by the police in the city.
Earlier, the students’ council of the country had issued a brief statement announcing the solidarity with demands of the protesting people.
