HRANA News Agency – On November 14, Golrokh Irai and Arash Sadeghi met in the prison. The meeting was the request of the head of the prison aimed at ending the hunger strike of Arash Sadeghi, however, despite the promises of the authorities he refused to end his hunger strike until fulfilling these promises.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on November 14, Golrokh Irai and Arash Sadeghi met in the “Office of Enforcement” for the first time since Ms. Irai’s arrest.
The meeting was at the request of Mr. Chaharmahali, head of Evin prison and was aimed at ending the hunger strike of Arash Sadeghi. However, despite the promises of the authorities he refused to end his hunger strike until these promises are fulfilled.
It is worth noting, Arash Sadeghi who is serving his sentence of 19 years in prison in hall 10 of ward 8 of Evin prison, has gone on hunger strike since October 24 in protest against the arrest of his wife, Golrokh Irai
The political prisoner in a letter mentioned the documented cases of rights violations in the process of arrest, interrogation, trial and sentencing of his wife’s case.
on October 24, Golrokh Irai, civil activist, was arrested violently by the Revolutionary Guards of Sarollah without a warrant, to serve her 6 years of imprisonment and was transferred to Evin prison. She is kept in women’s ward of Evin prison.
Amnesty International issued a statement and condemned the arrests without subpoenas and called for her freedom.
