Hossain Rounaghi Maleki on the 22nd Day of Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – The condition of Hossain Rounaghi Maleki is reported to be very bad on his 22nd day of hunger strike. The prosecutor’s office yet has given no response.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the general condition of Hossain Rounaghi Maleki, ill prisoner in Evin prison is reported to be very bad on his 22nd day of hunger strike. This strike was started in protest to medical negligence. He has been unable to move, in a way that to transfer him from the ward to the visit room, the prison staff used a car.
Mr. Maleki recently stopped drinking water too.
A close source to Maleki’s family told HRANA’s reporter, “His mother has been in Evin and prosecutor’s office today. She found her son’s condition critical”.
This source answered to a question regarding the response of the prosecutor’s office, “They did not give any answer and Hossain’s mother said, ‘what would you do if he was your son? This is a murder’”.
This source also said, “Hossain’s condition was so bad yesterday that he was transferred to a clinic outside of prison, and again sent back to prison”.
Need to be mentioned, Ahmad Rounaghi Maleki has also announced hunger strike in solidarity with his son and said that he would continue until his son would receive proper medical treatment, and get released. He is now on the 8th day of the strike.
Hossain Rounaghi Maleki, human rights activist and blogger was arrested on November 23, 2009.
Branch number 26 of the revolutionary court has sentenced him to 15 years in prison, 10 months after the date of his arrest and transfer to ward 2-A of Evin prison, on October 5, 2010. He was charged with being a member in Iranproxy network, insulting the supreme leader and insulting the president.
This sentence was confirmed in branch 54 of the appeal court and after that, Hossain Rounaghi was transferred to ward 350 of Evin.
This prisoner is currently kept in ward number 7 of Evin prison, without proper medical treatment.
