HRA News Agency – Tahereh Saeedi, wife of Jafar Panahi, the imprisoned director, said that he had met with the prosecutor of Tehran, but Jaafar Dolatabadi have given her no clear answer on her husbands situation and have only said: “Panahi still has not changed his position.”

According Rooz site, while Mr. Panahi is kept in the Section 209 of Evin prison, she added: “During a visit on March 31 with my husband, he told me that the charges raised against him are making a movie without proper (IRI) license and wearing a Green scarf at the Montreal Film Festival in Canada.”

Saeedi described the morale of her husband thoroughly and said:”He was eager to know the outside world’s news and I provided him with that.”

She added with expressing concern about Panahi’s physical condition: “He has lost a lot of weight and is thin.  I felt he is ill.  Considering that a while ago he suffered two spasms in the chest area and taken to emergency.  The doctor has diagnosed his symptoms as being under stress and work related problems and if continued, it is considered dangerous and even may lead to a heart attack.  On the other hand, they have transferred him to a smaller cell more like a vault with no space to move around and this has caused more concern for us.
