Mahmoud Masoumi Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Masoumi, civic activist who was arrested along with six other civic activists during a coordinated operation by security agencies on February 1, 2018, was released on the bail until the trial.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mahmoud Masoumi, civic activist who was arrested on February 1, 2018, was released on the bail until the trial on March 5, 2018.
Mahmoud Masoumi had been arrested along with six other civic activists during a coordinated operation by security agencies on February 1, 2018.
He was temporarily released from Evin Prison by bailing 1 billion IRR until the trial.
Mahmoud Masoumi, born in 1995 and former student of Saha University in the field of aircraft mechanics, was arrested by the agents of the IRGC for the first time on May 15, 2016 due to participating in protest rallies.
His trial was held at Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on July 1, 2017, on the charges of “insulting the sacred, gathering and colluding against national security, insulting leadership and propaganda against the regime”. Then, he was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for these four charges in September 2017.
Mr. Masoumi was arrested for the second time on January 2, 2018 due to participating in general protests and was released again on the bail of 2 Billon IRR after 8 days on January 10.
