Majid Moghadam Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Majid Moghadam who was arrested in December 2014, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), last week branch number 26 of the revolutionary court with chief judge Ahmadzadeh has issued a 6-year-imprisonment sentence for Majid Moghadam.
This sentence that has been communicated to the lawyer of this political prisoner could be appealed.
A close source to Majid Moghadam told HRANA’s reporter, ”Majid Moghadam’s charges are acts against the national security, utilization of satellite TV receiver and insulting the supreme leader”.
He also said, “We requested for his freedom on bail till announcement of the sentence by the court, but officials do not answer us”.
Majid Moghadam is currently kept in ward number 8 of Evin prison.
Need to be mentioned, Majid Moghadam was previously arrested in presidential elections of 2009 by plainclothes and transferred to Kahrizak detention centre.
