Morteza Moradpoor’s Family Rallied in front of Tabriz Judiciary

HRANA News Agency – Morteza Moradpoor’s family rallied in front of Judiciary of Tabriz on the 50th day of his hunger strike. Despite the promises of judicial authorities their request for a visit was denied.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Fardin Moradpoor, Morteza Moradpoor’s brother emphasized that there was no visit with Morteza.
Fardin Moradpoor told HRANA’s reporter: “This visit was suggested by Tabriz prosecutor’s representative but with the excuse of end of working hours, it did not happen.”
Need to be mentioned, Moradpoor family started a strike in front of judiciary against “denial of their request by legal authorities”.
Morteza Moradpoor, who was on hunger strike since November 24, 2016, in protest to not applying article 134 (accumulation of charges), by writing a letter to head of East-Azerbaijan Judiciary, complained about the illegal process of his case and execution of the sentence, and announced his hunger strike.

Translation of a part of Morteza Moradpoor’s mother, Masoumeh Amani’s conversation with the authorities: “This issue can be solved peacefully. I give you this chance today. But if it is ignored, I will start my strike in front of governor house and other places.
You the judicial employees, lawyers, provincial authorities and governors, who think you are the God. Why do you think that you own others’ lives? Who has given you this right to bypass the law? Just apply the rules.”
