HRANA News Agency – Afshin Hossein Panahi’s mother, met with her son after about two months since his arrest by the security forces. The meeting was held at the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj with the presence of security guards. The fates of Abbas and Ramin Hossein Panahi are still unknown.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the authorities eventually allowed Afshin Hossein Panahi’s mother to visit her son at the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj with the presence of security guards after 57 days since his arrest.

Earlier, security agencies had forced the elderly parents of the prisoner to appear in front of the camera and asked them to talk about their health while they were still largely unaware of the fate of their children by that time.

A source close to Hossein Panahi family confirmed this news and told HRANA’s reporter: “Hossein Panahi family is still unaware of the fate of Abbas and Ramin, and Afshin also emphasized that he was uninformed of his brother’s condition at the time of the meeting.”

The source added, “Hossein Panahi family is very concerned about Ramin’s injuries. They only want to make sure that he is alive in the first stage, so they had referred to all the judicial or security authorities, but the Ministry of Intelligence says Ramin is arrested by the IRGC, but the IRGC says unlike this, so they refuse to answer.”

It should be noted that four members of a political party fell under the control of the forces of the Hamza Provincial Guards Corps on Thursday, June 22, 2017. During the conflict, three members of the party, Hamed Saif Panahi, Behzad Noori and Sabah Hossein Panahi, were killed, and the fourth person, Ramin Hossein Panahi was arrested while he was hit by three bullets in the waist and leg.

After the incident security forces arrested a number of the relatives of these 4 men including Afshin Hossein Panahi, Ramin’s brother in his own house on June 22, 2017, Anwar Hossein Panahi, another brother of Ramin on June 25, 2017, Zibar, Ahmad and Anwar Hossein Panahi, Ramin’s cousins, by on June 26, 2017, and shortly afterwards, Abbas Hossein Panahi, a close relative of the family.

Security forces released Anwar Hossein Panahi on the condition that he would leave Kurdistan after two days of his detention and go to Tehran and then three other detainees would be released, but Abbas, Ramin and Afshin Hossein Panahi are still detained.
