One Prisoner Executed in Central Prison of Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – On December 28, a prisoner who had been charged with possession and transportation of drugs was hanged in the central prison of Tabriz. He had been transferred to solitary confinement in prison on December 27, and after a few hours he was returned to the ward, but on December 28, was once again he was moved to the solitary confinement and his sentence was carried out.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at 9:30 AM on December 28, a prisoner charged with possession and transportation of drugs was hanged in the central prison of Tabriz. 

Rashid Javadi, 47, from Jolfa was accused of carrying 106 grams of heroin and sentenced to death.

He had been transferred to solitary confinement on December 27, and after a few hours was returned to the ward.

A close source to the prisoner told HRANA’s reporter, “He had been transferred to solitary confinement in prison at 6:00 AM on December 27, but was returned to ward as at 10:00 AM. It seems they had bothered him while his charge was not too heavy.”
