A prisoner on hunger strike in ward 240 of Evin prison

HRANA News Agency – Seyed Davood Rahimi who was transferred to cell number 52 of ward 240 in Evin prison, due to his hunger strike, has been beaten by the guard and transferred to a hospital.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Seyed Davood Rahimi, the prisoner of ward number 8 of Evin prison, started his hunger strike in protest at the status of his case and bad condition of detention, on Sunday, March 30 and consequently was transferred to ward 8 which is known as ward 240, on Saturday, April 2.
One day after his transfer to ward 240, he was beaten harshly by guard for saying refrains which resulted in losing conscience by this prisoner. This prisoner was first transferred to clinic and then to a hospital outside of the prison. He has been taken back from hospital to his cell in ward 240 on Tuesday evening.
He is 40 years old and in a critical condition.
An informed source who wanted to remain unknown said to HRANA’s reporter, “In the transfer order to solitary confinement which is issued by disciplinary board of prison, is written until further notice which this is illegal”.
This source also added, “The reason for beating this prisoner was refrains against the supreme leader”.
