HRANA News Agency – After 5 months of transferring Ramazan Ahmad Kamal to Rajai Shahr prison, he is still in the waiting list for hospital.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists NewsAgency in Iran (HRANA), this Syrian detainee following an acute infection on his right hand and the risk of disability, was transferred in March for the treatment, from Qazvin prison to Rajai Shahr prison, but after about five months, prison authorities still refuse to send him to the hospital under the pretext that “the hospital has not given an appointment yet.”
This Syrian imprisoned citizen’s right hand was shot in the conflict and lack of serious treatment of this political prisoner led to loss of muscles in his hand, and his wound got severe infection. Prison doctors believe the only way to prevent the infection from spreading and to get rid of the prisoner’s hand disability is admitting him in a hospital, an issue that has not been achieved yet.
Ramazan Ahmed Kamal was arrested in 2008 on charges of membership in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Turkey and was sentenced to ten years in prison. During this time he has been held in prisons of Makoo, Qazvin, Evin and Rajai Shahr.
