HRANA- After spending fifty three days in solitary confinement, political prisoner Behrouz Javid Tehrani has been transferred to Ward 1 of Rajai Shahr Prison as of Wednesday July 14, 2010. He was transferred to the solitary ward on May 22, 2010 for unspecified reasons.
HRANA has learned that Behrouz Javid Tehrani spent eight days on hunger strike while in the solitary ward.
In addition to the psychological distress the political prisoner was kept in solitary for three days without the use of a restroom.
Behrouz Javid Tehrani was prevented from having access to his medications or goods used for personal hygiene. During his fifty three days in solitary he was allowed to shower once a week and use the restroom once a day.
At the request of the Ministry of Intelligence, prison authorities kept Behrouz Javid Tehrani in solitary through the July 9th anniversary of the student protests of 1999.
