HRANA – On October 20, security forces arrested Ali Alipour, the father of executed political prisoner Babak Alipour, in Rasht and transferred him to the city’s detention facility known as “Shohadaye Gomnam” (Unknown Martyrs). Security agents also confiscated several electronic devices belonging to Alipour and his family.

According to HRANA, Ali Alipour was arrested in Rasht. A source close to the family confirmed the arrest to HRANA, stating: “At 8:00 AM on Tuesday, October 20, security forces arrested Mr. Alipour at his residence and transferred him to the Shohadaye Gomnam detention facility in Rasht.”

The source added that, during the arrest, agents also confiscated several electronic devices belonging to Alipour and his family members.

At the time of this report, no information had been obtained regarding the reasons for Alipour’s arrest or the charges brought against him.

Ali Alipour is the father of Babak Alipour, a political prisoner who was executed on March 31 of this year at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

It is worth noting that Rouzbeh Alipour, another son of Ali Alipour, was also arrested in February of last year and remains in a state of legal uncertainty at the Greater Tehran Prison.
