Amir Amirgholi’s Appeal Court Will Be Held in August

HRANA News Agency – The Appeal Court of Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, political prisoner in Evin prison with primitive sentence of 19 years and six months in prison will be held in August.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Appeal Court of Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, political prisoner in Evin prison with primitive sentence of 19 years and six months in prison will be held in branch 36 of the Appeal Court on August 3, 2016.
Amir Amirgholi, political prisoner in ward 8 of Evin prison, who had gone on hunger strike in protest against his conditions and lack of separation of crimes, ended his hunger strike after 18 days in ward eight of Evin Prison, in response to requests from civil rights and political activists.
His father told HRANA’s reporter: “Amir is held in ward eight of Evin prison where most prisoners are foreigners. He has requested to be transferred from this ward based on the principle of separation of offenses, due to inappropriate health and hygiene condition and be in danger by living in the ward with prisoners who suffer from infection diseases such HIV and Hepatitis, but despite repeated requests and hunger strike, no action has been taken.”
Amir Amirgholi, former student activist and political prisoner in ward eight of Evin prison, was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by branch 15 of the revolutionary court presided over by judge Salvati on charges of “blasphemy”, “insulting the Supreme Leader”, “gathering and colluding to act against national security”, “disturbing public order by participating in gatherings” and “propaganda against the regime”. In accordance with the Article 134 of the Penal Code and the aggregation of crime, the maximum sentence can be up to seven years and a half. His Appeal Court Branch has not be determined yet.
Amnesty International called on Iranian authorities to unconditionally and immediately release Amir Amirgholi and ensure that he is protected from torture and ill-treatment. Iranian authorities must ensure that he has access to lawyers and appropriate medical treatment and the principle of separation of offenses according to United Nations standards are considered about him.

Amnesty International Called for Freedom of Amir Amirgholi

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International issued a statement and urged the Iranian authorities to unconditionally release Amir Amirgholi and ensure that he is protected from torture and ill-treatment.

Amir Amirgholi’s Father: My Son is in a Critical Condition in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Amir Amirgholi, student activist and political prisoner in Evin prison, who is on the 14th day of his hunger strike to protest at his conditions in the prison, is suffering from low blood pressure and weight loss and is in critical physical condition. Abbas Amirgholi, his father, announced that his son’s demand was legitimate and called on officials to address his case.

Amir Amirgholi Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison

HRANA News Agency – Amir Amirgholi, former student activist and political prisoner in ward 8 of Evin prison, has been sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Salvati. In accordance with Article 134 of the Penal Code and the aggregation of the crime, the maximum applicable punishment of this sentence is up to seven years.
