Atena Faraghdani Will be Released on May 11th.

HRANA News Agency – Branch number 54 of the appeal court of Tehran, reduced the primary sentence of Atena Faraghdani from 12 years and 9 months to 18 months in prison. Therefore, she will be released very soon.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the sentence of 12 years and 9 months of the imprisoned artist, Atena Faraghdani, was dropped by branch number 54 of the appeal court of Tehran, and she was sentenced to 18 months in prison, on charge of propaganda against the regime. With the consideration of her detention time and imprisonment period, her sentence will be fully served on May 11, and she is expected to be released from Evin prison. (more…)

Iranian Authorities Approve Virginity Tests on 2 Political Prisoners

HRANA News Agency – In the last report of the UN Secretary General on the situation of human rights in Iran, Islamic republic officials have confirmed the virginity test of Atena Faraghdani and stated that prison authorities performed the test in response to sexual harassment allegations in some websites.

Atena Farghdani Has Been On Hunger Strike For 3 Days

HRANA News Agency – Defamation and verbal abuse carried by wardens forced Atena Faraghdani, the civil rights activist to go on a three-day-hunger strike. She emphasized that she will start her hunger strike again, if these behaviors continue.

Atena Faraghdani Ended Her Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Atena Farghdani ended her hunger strike as the authorities accepted to transfer her from Gharchak prison in Varamin to Evin prison.

Atena Faraghdani, children’s rights activist is arrested

HRANA News Agency – Atena Faraghdani the painter and children’s rights activist has been arrested two weeks ago for unknown reasons. There is no information about her whereabouts after arrest.
