HRANA News Agency – Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi, Iran’s Minister of Health and Medical Education, has said that college applicants who smoke will be rejected, and university students who smoke will be expelled.
According to a report by Fars News Agency, Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi has announced, “In the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, candidates who smoke won’t be selected, and in relation to college students, those who smoke will be expelled.”
According to this report, Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi has also said that laws to combat tobacco usage are approved and well established in the country, but government organizations tasked to oversee the enforcement of these laws must become more proactive and punish the offenders.
It appears as if this decision has been reached in order to place more restrictions on college students.
