HRANA News Agency – Col. Mohammad Jalini, Chief of Police Station 127 in Narmak, in response to the HRANA’s report on the death of a detained citizen as a result of being beaten in custody and lack of medical care during detention at this police station, claimed that the detainee was an “evil” and had fought with police forces. He also claimed that Mr. Dastanpour has had mental problems.
Dastanpour family reacted to these claims in an interview with HRANA and rejected the claims of Chief of Narmak Police Station and said: “The officers entered our house without a warrant and beat Nader and despite his serious condition, they did not care till he died in the detention. They took him to Chamran hospital without legal registration of his body. There are local witnesses’ statements and the record of contacts that had been done, in this regard.” Dastanpour family emphasized that they have registered a complaint for prosecution of those who have “murdered” their son. A Civilian Killed in the Police Custody in Tehran
HRANA News Agency – Nader Dastanpour from Tehran died in police custody as a result of the consequences of being beating during his detention including brain damage and not being transferred to the hospital. On June 23, he was arrested and a day after the detention it was announced that he had died.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Nader Dastanpour died in the custody of Police Station 127 of Narmak of Tehran as a result of the consequences of being beaten during his detention including brain damage.
