Number of Executions in Khorramabad Prison Rises to Three

HRANA News Agency – With the identification of two additional prisoners executed at dawn on January 16 in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad, the total number of executions in the prison yesterday has increased to three.

In addition to the execution of Saman Davoudian, the death sentences of Rashid Zeinabi, 36, father of one, and Mohammad Amiri Baharvand, residents of Khorramabad, were also carried out in Parsilon Prison. All three had been previously arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by the Criminal Court.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or related institutions.

In 2024, the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran documented 812 cases related to the right to life, including the sentencing of 214 individuals to death and the execution of 930 individuals. Among these, 4 executions were carried out in public. Of those executed, 818 were male, 26 were female, and 5 were juvenile offenders—individuals under 18 years old at the time of their alleged crimes.

Prisoner Executed in Khorramabad Prison

HRANA News Agency – At dawn today, January 16, 2025, a prisoner convicted of murder was executed in Parsilon Prison in Khorramabad.

The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by HRANA as Saman Davoudian, a resident of Khorramabad.

Mr. Davoudian had been arrested on charges of murder and subsequently sentenced to death by a criminal court. He was transferred to solitary confinement yesterday in preparation for his execution.

As of the time of this report, prison officials and relevant authorities have not announced the execution.

In 2024, the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran documented 812 cases related to the right to life, including the sentencing of 214 individuals to death and the execution of 930 individuals. Among these, 4 executions were carried out in public. Of those executed, 818 were male, 26 were female, and 5 were juvenile offenders—individuals under 18 years old at the time of their alleged crimes.

Prisoner Executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad

On August 28, 2024, a prisoner previously sentenced to death on murder charges was executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified the prisoner as Meysam Hosseinkhani, a resident of Kuhdasht. He was previously arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.
According to the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran, in 2023, at least 767 citizens, including 21 women and 2 juvenile offenders, were executed. Of these, the executions of 7 individuals were carried out in public. Additionally, during this period, 172 others were sentenced to death, with 5 of them sentenced to public execution. It is worth noting that during the same period, the initial death sentences of 49 other individuals were also upheld by the Supreme Court.

Two Prisoners Executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad

At dawn on Saturday, August 10, two death-row prisoners previously convicted on drug-related were exectued in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of the executed prisoners as “Naser Garavand.” Both prisoners had been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

On Thursday, August 1, the execution of two prisoners, previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was carried out in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified one of these prisoners as Hamed Parseh. These prisoners had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

No official sources or domestic media outlets within the country have provided coverage of these executions at the time of writing. In 2023, 66% of HRANA’s reports on executions lacked official announcements by judicial authorities and went unreported by media inside Iran, highlighting a troubling lack of transparency in due process.

Three Prisoners Executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad

On Saturday, July 27th, the death sentences of three prisoners, previously convicted on drug-related charges, were carried out in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified one of the prisoners executed this morning as Azim Amraie.
They had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and then sentenced to death by the judiciary.

It is worth noting that on July 20, Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad also witnessed the execution of another prisoner named Saeed Sepehvand, who had been sentenced to death on similar charges.

Ast the time of thie wirting, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by prison officials or the relevant authorities.

Among the executed individuals whose genders were identified, 21 were female. Additionally, 2 juvenile offenders, defined as individuals under the age of 18 at the time of their alleged crimes, were also executed.

Inmate Executed in Parsilon Prison for Drug-Related Crimes

At dawn on Saturday, July 20, the execution of a prisoner previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges was carried out in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified the prisoner as Saeed Sepahvand.

Sepahvand, along with another prisoner named Azim Amraie, who had also been arrested and sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was transferred to solitary confinement in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad, on Thursday, July 18, for the execution of their sentences. The execution of Amraie was postponed for three months, and he was returned to the general ward of the prison.

No official sources or domestic media outlets within the country have provided coverage of these executions at the time of writing.

Three Inmates Executed in Khorramabad for Drug-Related Offenses

On August 2, 2023, three inmates were executed at Parsilon Prison in Khorramabad after being convicted of drug-related crimes.

The executed prisoners have been identified by HRANA as Mohammad-Javad Akbari, Sharif Akbari, and Kianoosh Teymoori.
The execution process commenced after the inmates were transferred to solitary confinement last Monday, as a precursor to the implementation of the sentence.

At present, no official sources or domestic media outlets in the country have reported on these executions.

In 2022, the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran registered 457 reports related to the death penalty. This included 92 death sentences, including the conviction of 6 people to public execution and 565 execution sentences were carried out, 2 of which have been carried out in public. Based on the announced identifications of some of the executed individuals, 501 were male and 11 were female. In addition, 5 juvenile offenders were executed in 2022, meaning they were under the age of 18 at the time they committed the crime.
