HRANA News Agency – There is no information about the status of Said Shirzad, the children rights activist, who was arrested last week in Tabriz.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Said Shirzad was arrested at his workplace in Tabriz refinery on June 2nd however he has not called his family yet.
A close source to him told HRANA’s reporter, “Said has not has any contact with home and after the inquiries of his family, they have told that intelligence service has arrested him and interrogations might take 20 days long”.
This source was not aware of his charge(s) and said, “We think he is kept at the Tabriz intelligence service detention center”.
Said Shirzad had been arrested on August 22, 2013 while he went to Ahar for helping people of East Azerbaijan province during aftermath of earthquake. He was released on bail after 19 days.
Said Shirzad was sentenced to one year in prison for this case.
