On September 24, 2022, Iran’s security forces arrested filmmaker Mohammad Siamaknia in Tabriz and transferred him to an unidentified location.
According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on September 24, 2022, filmmaker Mohammad Siamaknia was arrested in Tabriz.
An informed source told HRANA that on the eighth day of the protests after the death of Mahsa Amini, Siamaknia was arrested at work and taken to an unidentified location. Officials have not provided Siamaknia’s family with any information about his condition.
The reason for this arrest is still unknown.
Siamaknia is a filmmaker with several documentaries on social issues and short films such as “Woodpecker” and “Language”.
