Uncertainty About the Continued Detainment of Three Founders of a Cultural Association

HRA News Agency – After four months of detainment, three members of a cultural association, named Dr. Ebrahim Babayi, Mehdi Kouhan, and Mohsen SadeghiNoorare, are still being kept at Evin Prison under uncertain circumstances. According to the information received by HRANA reporters, after the public protests of December 27 of this year on the occasion of Ashura, 16 members of a cultural association, known as “The Children of the Great Iran,” were arrested in Tehran by the officials of the Ministry of Information and transferred to Evin Prison Division 209. The interrogators subjected them to beatings and mistreatment.


 

These individuals were released after a few days upon providing a written assurance, but Dr. Ebrahim Babayi, Mehdi Kouhan, and Mohsen SadeghiNoor were not released and were transferred to Division 350 of Evin Prison.

Mr. Babayi is suffering from a heart disease and sciatica, and Mr. Kouhan and Mr. Sadeghi Noor are suffering from physical and emotional maladies due to numerous beatings.
