The Wave of Arresting Turkish Protesters Continues

HRANA News Agency – Following the protests in various cities of Azerbaijan and Ardebil provinces in reaction to the article published in the newspaper of “Tarhe No” and the continuation of the protests in recent days, a wave of arrests of protesters in various cities including Tabriz and Ardebil continued by arresting at least three other civilians. At the same time one person was summoned to the police station in Urmia, and in Tabriz, intelligence agents were unsuccessful in their attempt to arrest two others.  Along with the continuous wave of arrests five of the detainees were released on July 29.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the wave of arresting Turkish (Azeri) protesters to the article published in the newspaper of “Tarhe No” continued by arresting and summoning some other civilians.
On July 29, Ms. Nasim Sadeghi was arrested by security guards in the city of Tabriz. And intelligence agents were unsuccessful in arresting Hojat Mokhtarzadeh and Davood Shiri at their house.
According to received reports, Hamid Adib Shafaq and Ali Khalilzadeh have also been detained in the city of Ardabil since July 28.
According to the reports from Urmia, Amir Ismailyar has been summoned to the police department and public security.
However, along with the wave of arrests which is believed to be close to include 50 civilians, a number of arrestees were released in different stages. The last of these cases are reported to be Morteza Karimi in Maragheh, Abolfazl Imani along with his young children in Zanjan, Vahid Sadeghifar and Arsalan Zanganli in the city of Ardabil.
HRANA had reported earlier that after protests by Turkish citizens to racial insult in Tarhe No newspaper in Tabriz and Urmia cities, a large number of citizens were arrested 15 to 25 of whom were released on the bail or by writing onus letter and at least seven people are still in detention.
On July 28, the wave of arresting Turkish (Azeri) activists in various cities including Tabriz, Urmia, Khoy, Maragheh, Zanjan, Ardabil and Tehran continued by arresting 24 others.
