Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb Sentenced to Fines

HRANA News Agency – The 6 months of imprisonment sentence for propaganda against the regime charge, of Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, civil rights activist, was changed to fines in lieu of imprisonment in the appeal court.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), branch number 54 of appeal court of Tehran province, changed the 6 month imprisonment sentence of Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, to 20 million IRR fines in lieu of imprisonment.

Mr. Ahmadi Ragheb was charged with propaganda against the regime by posting critical content on his Facebook page.

This civil rights activist was summoned to security police in June 2015 and tried in November by revolutionary court of Shahriar.

Mr. Ahmadi Ragheb has two other open cases.

On the latest law suit against him, he has been charged with propaganda against the regime by actions like Facebook posts and attending in trials of other activists, by branch number one of the revolutionary court of Shahriar and sentenced to 9 months in prison.

The other open case of this civil rights activist is about the case that he was arrested during protest gathering in front of Dena Tire Co, in July 2016. He was then transferred to ward number 8 of Evin prison. He was eventually released on the bail, on December 6th.
