2 Former Political Prisoners Arrested Again In Tehran

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Azimi and Fatemeh Ziai Azad, two former political prisoners have been detained.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mahmoud Azimi and his wife Fatemeh Ziai Azad, former political prisoners, were arrested and transferred to an unknown location, by the security agents.
Fatemeh Ziai Azad, 56, is a former political prisoner in Iran, who was in prison for five years from 1981 to 1986.
Mahmoud Azimi was arrested on 22 January 2008 for alleged “travel to Iraq to meet two of her daughters” and after two years of imprisonment, she was released from the prison in January 2010.
Fatemeh Ziai also was arrested once again on 8th June 2013 by the security agents and was released on 17th October of the same year due to aging, MS (multiple sclerosis) and poor physical condition from the women’s ward of Evin prison.
It is to say that her husband “Mahmoud Azimi”, is a prominent political activist who has had a record of several times of arrests in his case.
