2 Political Prisoners Put on Trial in Orumieh

HRANA News Agency – On July 28, Matin Khezri and Hussain Ahmadpour, two political prisoners in Central prison of Orumieh were transferred to Minavand prison after their first trial in Minavand.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on July 28, the first trial of Matin Khezri and Hussain Ahmadpour, two political prisoners in Central prison of Orumieh was held in Minavand and they were transferred to Minavand prison afterwards.

The prisoners have been charged with “acting against national security through membership in a Kurdish opposition party”.

Remarkably, Mr. Khezri and Ahmadpur were kept along other ordinary prisoners in Orumieh prison. Not long ago they were threatened regarding their contact with political prisoners at the prison by being summoned to the Intelligence Office in the prison.

Matin Khezri and Hussain Ahmadpour were arrested in Bukan on November 15, 2015, and had been transferred to Intelligence Office of Bukan and then to Intelligence Office of Orumieh after fourteen days. According to HRANA’s sources, the prisoners were transferred to Orumieh prison after 73 days.

Matin Khezri was born on September 23, 1988 and Hussein Ahmed Poor was born on December 14, 1990.
