The 3rd Anniversary of Self-Immolation of a Yarsan Follower Held in Takestan

HRANA News Agency – The third anniversary of self-immolation of Mohammad Ghanbari, Yarsan follower, was held under tight security condition in the village of Qara Dash of Takestan.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on July 28, the third anniversary of self-immolation of Mohammad Ghanbari, Yarsan follower, was held under tight security condition in the village of Qara Dash of Takestan.
Security forces tried to prevent the ceremony by threating Yarsan activists and pouring soil by truck on the road leading to the venue of the ceremony.
Mohammad Ghanbari, a member of Ahl-e Haqq (Yarsan) who set himself on fire in front of the Islamic Parliament to protest against the government’s failure to address the grievances of this religious minority on July 27, 2013, died in Motahari hospital.
Participants gathered at the tomb of Mohammad Ghanbari demanding the recognition of this religion in Iran among the official religions in the constitution.
