2 Prisoners Chained to the Door of Solitary Confinement in Orumieh Prison

HRANA News Agency – Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners in Orumieh Prison with financial charges, were chained to the door of solitary confinement due to announcing hunger strike, as “a lesson for others prisoners”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners with financial charges, who have been held in  Orumieh Prison, since 2011, were chained to the door of solitary confinement while they were handcuffed and shackled, for more than 48 hours by the prison authorities, following a hunger strike to protest against the lack of proper care towards their case, whilst based on the usual procedure they should have been transferred to the solitary confinement in prison.
These two prisoners’ prison sentences have ended, but because of a fine of 150 million Tomans, they are not being released.
It is noteworthy, Omid Rahmani, also had been sentenced to 3 months and 1 day imprisonment on charge of propaganda against the regime, between 2013 and 2014.
