A Prisoner Has Gone on Hunger Strike in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Omid Rahmani, one of the financial crimes prisoners in Central Prison of Urmia, has gone on hunger strike to protest against his situation and lack of accountability and the day after he made “plaster cast” on his head. After doing that, he was transferred to the solitary confinement by the prison authorities. This prisoner’s situation has been assessed to be worrying.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Omid Rahmani, one of the financial crimes prisoners in Urmia prison, who claims that his imprisonment sentence has ended but his release is prevented because of his financial inability to pay the fine, went on a hunger strike on 27th April, to protest his situation and the day after he chalked out his head. 7 Prisoners Sentenced to Additional Imprisonment in Orumieh Prison since 2011

HRANA News Agency – A trend of increasing the sentences of the prisoners in Orumieh Prison has begun since 2011 as Ali Ahmad Soleiman, Mustafa Ali Ahmed and Qader Mohammadzadeh were sentenced each to three months in prison in the spring of that year on charges of propaganda against the system.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in 2011 other two prisoners, Ali Ahmad Soleiman and Omid Rahmani were sentenced on charge of propaganda against the state to three months in prison. 5 Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Different Prisons

HRANA News Agency – Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, Saeed Razavi Faqih, Iraj Hatami, Farid Azmodeh and Behzad Tarahomi are five political-security prisoners on hunger strike in different prisons.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Hossein Ronaghi Maleki and Saeed Razavi Faqih are two political prisoners and patients in ward 7 of Evin prison who are on the 4th and 7th day of their hunger strike because of lack of investigation to their therapeutic situation. Chained Prisoners in Orumieh Prison Transferred to Solitary Confinements

HRANA News Agency – Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners of Uremia prison with financial charges who were chained to the cells doors for protesting by hunger strike, in order to be “a lesson for other prisoners” on Sunday March 13th, were transferred inside the cell. These prisoners are still on hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners with financial charges who have been kept in Uremia prison since 2011, started a hunger strike in protest to negligence to their cases. However, despite regular manner of sending prisoners to the solitary confinement, they were chained with handcuffs and shackles to the cells door in order to be “a lesson for other prisoners” for three days. 2 Prisoners Chained to the Door of Solitary Confinement in Orumieh Prison

HRANA News Agency – Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners in Orumieh Prison with financial charges, were chained to the door of solitary confinement due to announcing hunger strike, as “a lesson for others prisoners”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Omid Rahmani and Rasoul Shokri, two prisoners with financial charges, who have been held in  Orumieh Prison, since 2011, were chained to the door of solitary confinement while they were handcuffed and shackled, for more than 48 hours by the prison authorities, following a hunger strike to protest against the lack of proper care towards their case, whilst based on the usual procedure they should have been transferred to the solitary confinement in prison. Trial on charge of contact with political prisoners

HRANA News Agency – Omid Rahmani, an ordinary prisoner in Urmia Central prison will be tried on charge of propaganda in favor of opposition groups through interacting with political prisoners.
 
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Omid Rahmani is an ordinary prisoner who is imprisoned for illegal foreign currency exchange, in Urmia prison.
 
Security of prison has prevented his release on the bail by alleging him for propaganda and activities in support of opposotion groups.
 
Security and guards of Urmia central prison, are controlling any contact between ordinary and political prisoners in order to preclude awareness and information leakage about the condition of prison and political prisoners.
 
Omid Rahmani was interrogated for two hours about this new trial yesterday.
