2 Prisoners Including One with Disabilities Executed in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – On January 21, 2017, two prisoners, including a handicapped and a sick prisoner who was kept in prison, were hanged on charge of transporting and storing drugs in the central prison of Urmia.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on January 21, 2017, two prisoners were hanged on charge of transporting and storing drugs in the central prison of Urmia.

The details of the case and identities of two prisoners are as follows:

  1. Ghabl Ali Bagher (disabled) / charged with carrying 300 grams of heroin / was kept in clinic of prison under the care.
  2. Sina Hassanpour / 22 years old / from youth ward / charged with carrying drug charges

The prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement on January 20, 2017.

It is worth noting that one of prisoners suffered from disabilities and had lost his two feet and moved around via wheelchair.
