2 Sunni Prisoners’ Trial Postponed

HRANA News Agency – Taimor Naderizad and Farzad Shah Nazarijo, two Sunni prisoners in Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj were sent to the court on May 31, 2016 but were returned to the prison due to the absence of the judge. The trial of the two Sunni prisoners was postponed for the third time in the past 6 months due to the same reason.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Taimor Naderizad and Farzad Shah Nazarijo, two Sunni prisoners in Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj were returned to the prison due to absence of the judge on May 31, 2016.
It is said that it was the third time that the prisoners were summoned to the court and every time have been returned to the prison due to absence of the judge in the past 6 months.
The prisoners’ exact charges are not known but in general the judiciary charges them with Salafism and being associated with fundamentalist groups and armed operations. However, the prisoners deny the charges, believing that their detention is solely for their peacefully promoting of religious believes.
