HRANA News Agency – According to a new order, all correspondence between prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison and their families are prohibited. All prisoners’ furloughs have been canceled until further notice, too.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Referring to the issuance of the new directive, all correspondence between prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison and their families are prohibited.
A close source to the families of prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison announced the news in an interview with HRANA’s reporter and said: “Previously, letters from both the family and the prisoners were sent to the security and then after studying and if there was no problem, it was allowed to be sent. In these letters there should be no coded words, description of prison conditions and other prisoners in the ward.”
The source said: “In recent days, prisoners and families who have attempted to send letters, faced the new order. The reason was the new directive, though prisoners are not aware of the content of this directive, and the reason of this decision.”
Another informed source announced in an interview with HRANA that based on unknown reasons, all the furloughs of the prisoners in women’s ward were during the administrative procedure stopped.
In the women’s ward of Evin prison where many prisoners are mothers, woman dissident prisoners are kept, the prisoners are deprived of phone calls, despite the rest of the prisoners outside Evin prison, their appointments are limited and have many environmental problems in this place.
