24 Turkish Civilians Arrested in Different Cities

HRANA News Agency – Following the rally in various cities in Azerbaijan and Ardabil provinces in protest to the article in the “Tarhe No” newspaper and the continuation of the protests, the wave of arresting Turkish (Azeri) activists in various cities including Tabriz, Urmia, Khoy, Maragheh, Zanjan, Ardabil and Tehran continued by the arrest of 24 others on July 28.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on July 28, At least 24 others civilians were arrested in the rally in protest to the article of “Tarhe No” newspaper.
Khoy:
Hossein Bostanchi, Hossein Kazemlui, Salman Iraqi, Saeed Varmazyar, Vahed Safari, Hadi Abbaszadeh, a civilian named Hossein and two other people with unknown identities.
Maragheh:
Morteza Karimi (Savalan).
Zanjan:
Abolfazl Imani with his son
Urmia:
Mehdi Hajizadeh
Ardabil:
Mohammad Jolani, Ahmad Mohammadzadeh, Vahid Sadeghifar and Hussein Balakhani.
Tehran:
Ali Ebrahimi.
Tabriz:
Rozbeh Piri, Ali Jabbari, Ali Hedayati, Ali Dabbaghi and two sisters named Nayer and Maryam Fathaliloo.
It is reported that Salman Iraqi and Hossein Bostanchi were severely beaten during arrest and suffered “severe bleeding in the head and face”.
Also during the protests in the city of Khoy, the mobile phone of Javad Kargar was recorded by intelligence agents and he has been summoned to the Intelligence Ministry for interrogations.
None of those detained have been released so far.
HRANA had reported earlier the rally in protest to the article of “Tarhe No” newspaper by Turkish citizens (Azeri) in Tabriz and Tehran. A large number of protestors were arrested 15 to 25 of whom were released on the bail and at least seven people are still under detention.
