6 Civil Activists Sentenced to Imprisonment in Gachsaran

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Mohammad Sadegh Pour, Ehsan Arshadi, Abdullah Alirezanejad, Mohammadreza Mobaraki and Mehran Zaki, Mojtaba Pourhassan, six civilians from Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province were sentenced to suspended prison sentences and banned membership in political parties on charge of insulting the Supreme Leader and propaganda against the state.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abbas Mohammad Sadegh Pour, Ehsan Arshadi, Abdullah Alirezanejad, Mohammadreza Mobaraki, Mehran Zaki and Mojtaba Pourhassan, six civilians from Dill village in Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province were sentenced to suspended prison sentences and banned membership in political parties.
According to the verdict of the Revolutionary Court in Gachsaran by Yousuf Ahmadi, substitute judge of this court, each one of the mentioned 6 men was sentenced to two years in prison on charge of insulting the leadership and a year in prison on charge of propaganda against the regime and two years being banned from membership in political parties and groups.
This sentence was issued under Articles 500 and 514 of the Penal Code and by applying Article 134 (approximation of laws).
However, the court suspended one year of the verdict for two years because of favorable condition.
The defendants can appeal within 20 days.
It should be noted that Abbas Mohammad Sadegh Pour, Ehsan Arshadi, Abdullah Alirezanejad, Mohammadreza Mobaraki, Mehran Zaki, Mojtaba Pourhassan, Hamid Bozorgzadeh and Hamid Mazaheri, eight people from the village of Dill of Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province were arrested on charge of production and distribution of notifications against the government and leadership and arrested by the IRGC in 2013.
Earlier, an informed source had told HRANA: “After inspecting their houses and discovering things like satellite equipment and even checking all their SMS, they divided the charges into political and public and sent them to two separate branches, political charges of propaganda against the regime through notifications and insulting the authorities through SMS and non-political charges such as maintenance of satellite equipment and so on for which no verdict has yet been issued.”
