Ahmad Montazeri Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Montazeri, son of Ayatollah Montazeri showed up at Qom Special Court for Clergies for the sixth time on September 5, because of publishing his father’s audio file about executions of political prisoners in Iran in 1988. He was charged and temporarily released on the bail of 700 million IRR until the next hearing.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ahmad Montazeri, son of Ayatollah Montazeri showed up at Qom Special Court for Clergies for the sixth time on September 5, because of publishing his father’s audio file about executions of political prisoners in Iran in 1988. He was charged with “acting against national security” and temporarily released on the bail of 700 million IRR until the next hearing.
Mr. Montazeri has written about the charges and his defense: “Acting against national security was raised and I was asked to defend myself; I responded that I would not accept the charge because it had been cited to numerous legal articles. So I would respond after consultation with my lawyer because I was not aware of listed legal articles.”
