Ahmad Montazeri’s Court Session Held Behind Closed Doors

HRANA News Agency – The court session of Ahmad Montazeri, Ayatollah Montazeri’s son for releasing the audio file regarding the executions in 1988, was held without the presence of a jury or a lawyer and behind the closed doors.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the court session of Ahmad Montazeri was held on October 19 in branch number 5 of special court of clergies in Qom by judge Rezaei and behind the closed doors and without the presence of a lawyer or a jury.
In this session, first the lawsuit which was prepared by branch number 4 of the prosecution office, was read by the office’s representative, Mr. Ansarizadeh, regarding the charge of acts against the national security, referring to articles 498, 501 and 505 of Islamic penal code. Then, Mr. Montazeri, rejected the allegations and defended himself.
Judicial authorities requested that details not to be publicized until the issuance of the verdict.
