Ambiguity on the elimination of “death caused by Acid attacks” report

HRANA News Agency – “Zendegi Salem” is news – analytic, domestic website which is authorized by the government for its activities. In less than 3 weeks after publishing a report about a death of a victim by Acid attacks in Isfahan, the site removed the report from its domain without any explanation. This would add to the ambiguity around the validity of this report and the role of security forces in elimination of it.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on 19 October 2014 the domestic legitimate website, “ Zendegi salem” which usually covers news about Isfahan state , published a report on its domain titled “ Acid attacks on 3 girls in Isfahan killed one” . This news was then mirrored by many domestic and foreign media channels.

Earlier this week and in less than 3 weeks, this report was taken off from this website domain under the shadow of silence without any explanation or clarification.

This news elimination has added to the vagueness and furthered the questions around the subject. It also increased the extent of damage from the chain Acid attacks in Isfahan.

It is not clear how much pressure have been put on them by the security forces to remove this news and the pressure from them to prevent the spread of information about Acid attacks in unknown.

It is important to mention that in recent weeks the “Reporters Without Borders” reported the increasing pressure from security forces on domestic journalists to prevent them from covering the news around the recent Acid attacks. HRANA attempted to get more information from the mentioned news website but has not been successful.
