The Appeal Court of 11 Arab Activists Was Held in Ahvaz

HRANA News Agency – The appeal court session of 11 Arab political activists was held in branch number 16 of Ahvaz appeal court by Judge Saeid Koosha. These civilians had been previously sentenced to long term prison sentences, in branch number 4 of the revolutionary court by Judge Shabooni. The sentences of 2 of them have been issued and submitted to them.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the appeal court session of 11 Arab political activists was held in branch number 16 of the Ahvaz appeal court.
The identities of these 11 civilians who were tried on August 3 are:
1. Ali Khanafareh, son of Yaghoob and resident of Abadan,
2. Esmaeil Rahimian (Daihami) son of Javad and resident of Kooy-e-Mojahed in Ahvaz,
3. Rasoul Dahimavi (Daihami) son of Aboud and resident of Malashiyeh,
4. Ibrahim Dahimavi (Daihami) son of Aboud and resident of Malashiyeh,
5. Ali Bayt Sayah son of Abdulreza and resident of Razmandegan of Ahvaz,
6. Mehdi Khanipoor (Halfi) son of Karim and resident of Talboomeh village located north of Ahvaz,
7. Jaber Sakhravi son of Gahami,
8. Aref Sarakhi son of Majid and resident of Malashiyeh,
9. Abdulkazem Haidari son of Abd and resident of Akhar-e-Asfalt in Ahvaz,
10. Shokrollah Sakhravi son of Bata and resident of Kooy-e-Khashayar,
11. Mohammad Khanipoor (Halfi) son of Karim and resident of Talboomeh village located north of Ahvaz.
A close source to these men told HRANA’s reporter: “The court has finalized the sentences of two and the others are released on the bail until their sentences will be issued”.
He continued, “of this group case, the sentences of two are finalized and according to verdicts of branch number 16 of appeal court, Mr. Jaber Sakhravi son of Gahami and Mehdi Khanipoor (Halfi) son of Karim, who had been previously sentenced to 20 years in prison, on charge of belligerence and membership in conflicting groups (Ahvaz freedom movement), are now sentenced to 17 years and half, based on section A of article number 455 of the penal act”.
The source emphasized that, “Jaber Sakhravi, 33, graduated of computer science and resident of Ahvaz, and Mehdi Khanipoor (Halfi), 27, resident of Talboomeh village in North of Ahvaz, were arrested by intelligence service of Ahvaz on March 24, 2014. They are currently serving their sentences in Shayban prison, after Ahvaz prison was evacuated. Jaber Sakhravi is suffering from a tumor and right side of his body has become paralyzed. He is also suffering from penis and kidney pain. Jaber Sakhravi and his family have requested a furlough many times but it has never been approved”.
Other defendants of this case were also arrested in March 2014, and it is been said that they were for many months under interrogations and harassments. They have been released on the bail.
