Appeals Court Upheld Rasoul Bodaghi’s Imprisonment Sentence

HRANA News Agency – Tehran Province Appeals Court upheld the sentence of three years in prison for Rasoul Bodaghi, imprisoned teacher in ward 7 of Evin Prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Rasoul Bodaghi faced a new case last July, at the end of his six-year-imprisonment sentence and was brought to trial on September 16, 2015.

The Revolutionary Court sentenced Mr. Bodaghi to 3 years imprisonment under the title of “acting against national security”.

Mr. Bodaghi was informed that the Tehran province Appeals Court upheld the lower court’s ruling, so that Mr. Bodaghi will remain in prison, at least until 2018.

It should be noted that, Rasoul Bodaghi, trade unionist, was arrested in November 2009, and due to his first case, endured six years in prison, and for his second case he experienced more than five months of detention in solitary confinement in ward 2-A of Evin prison.
